Job Purpose

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide general administrative support services. This post is based in Cape Town.


Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).


Recommendation

Relevant administration experience; Experience in digital copying of archival records.


Key Performance Areas

Supply of digital /images to researchers/external customers; Supply photocopies to researchers/external customers; Reading room duties; Skills development and administration.


Competencies

Knowledge and understanding of the following: Provincial Archives and Records Service of the Western Cape Act, policies and guidelines; Automatic storage and retrieval systems; Archival source codes; Retrieval of archival collection; Digital copying; Verbal and written communication skills; Proven computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).


Remuneration

R 173 703 per annum (Salary level 5) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
