The core function of the Healthcare Marketing Writer job is both developing content strategy based on a company’s or client’s business objectives and a customer’s or end user’s needs and creating/writing the content. Creative professionals in this role oversee content requirements and create content strategy deliverables across a project life cycle. This can include conducting content audits, qualitative analyses of all the content on a network of sites and social media accounts, as well as gap analyses and executing plans to fill the gaps.
Responsibilities
The HGS Healthcare Marketing Writer serves the Healthcare strategic business unit across North America, Europe and India.
Writing projects may include websites, landing pages, social media, press releases, blog posts, white papers, infographics, case studies, battlecards, brochures, service and solution pages, and thought leadership pieces.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Reinforcing the HGS voice with absolute consistency in its use for all HGS assets and materials
- Writing creative marketing content to tell the HGS story across all channels and platforms that is:
- On-message and aligned with healthcare market positioning guidelines
- Relevant in the healthcare industry and representative of HGS deep healthcare domain expertise
- Factually correct
- Clear, concise, and meets brand guidelines
- Supporting SEO and SEM marketing activities
- Meeting agreed-upon style standards and grammatically flawless
- Is saved/filed correctly to be easily accessed internally and externally online
- Working with the creative director and design team to make certain that design and written content work seamlessly together to communicate the desired message clearly and intuitively
- Working with HGS researchers to gather details on trends and communicate complex information simply and effectively (make messages compelling)
- Writing and positioning campaign content that drive higher engagement, including opens and clicks
- Coordinating with public relations agencies to improve HGS visibility, credibility, and enable sales with thought leadership (buyer education) content
- Exceptional creative writer and communicator – preference given to candidates with a formal writing, business communication or related creative background
- 8+ years proven experience performing a similar business to business function in the healthcare sector – experience working in B2B marketing is a minimum requirement
- Proven ability to develop healthcare and life sciences marketing content
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with global teams
- Previous experience collaborating with sales leadership teams
- Creative thinker with drive, ambition and high energy
- Ability to quickly understand value propositions and the healthcare marketplace – translating into compelling and engaging content
- Independent with the ability to productively work unsupervised from a home office
- Initiative and accountability are paramount
- Strong proofreading and editing skills are an asset
- Ability to work with and manage multiple senior stakeholders with strong points of view and rigorous standards
- Maturity, poise and professionalism are essential: you must be able to take direct feedback and respond constructively with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Knowledge of brand standards and processes
- Familiarity with print collateral standards and production methods across numerous geographies
- Familiarity with SEM and SEO is an asset
- Experience working with digital and online marketing channels is an asset
- Creative writing or marketing degree is desirable
- Ability to direct and manage creative agencies or internal resources
