This role will be the liaison between the client and our internal teams (Creative, Solutions, IT, Production, Analytics) on a new marketing program for Ford. This is a work from home position, but there will eventually be some in-person meetings at Ford (Detroit, MI) on a quarterly business (likely not until 2022). The ideal candidate will have some agency experience- have great verbal and written communication skills, able to work with different teams as well as clients, is familiar with managing an Email or Direct Mail campaign from start to finish, can create a decent presentation in Powerpoint, is able to use Excel proficiently to track costs, is familiar with pricing out a project, etc.

The Account Executive is the subject matter expert for assigned accounts in the areas of client management, program design and infrastructure, and financial and performance measures. Aides in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes. They are the primary resource during post-sale phases (planning, specification development, implementation, production management, scope change management) of jobs and the secondary point person during pre-sale phases (brainstorming, quoting, pricing) of opportunities that we manage for clients (external and internal). Acts under limited supervision as program lead for all Marketing Solutions accounts.

Responsible for planning, analysis, execution, delivery and production support of programs based on size of budget, magnitude and/or complexity. Arranges and chairs program related meetings involving multi-functional teams. Provides program knowledge and support to the entire Account team through use of documentation, fiscal tracking and communication tools.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Manages client(s) to improve performance throughout the life of the account
  • Manage demanding clients and shifts in direction with discipline and resilience
  • Anticipate, meet and exceed client expectations by setting standards for project and delivery teams
  • Drives accountability for task milestones
  • Responsible for program financials and profitability tracking, forecasting, pricing strategy, cost analysis and cost improvement initiatives
  • Owns revenues, scope, execution, budgets for specific accounts

o Track key performance indicators to determine budget to actuals on internal and external costs to maintain quoted gross margins

  • Completes all pricing for base program and enhancements/new opportunities for assigned account
  • Anticipates client needs and defines project direction; prepare action plans and contingency plans to lead team in achieving project goals
  • Responsible for planning, analysis, execution and delivery of account and enhancements
  • Monitor program performance reporting/analytics and make necessary adjustments to meet client expectations and fiscal responsibilities
  • Identify and advocate for the client; ability to balance organizational requirements and customer needs
  • Promote program growth and improvement; present value add ideas and enhancements on a consistent basis (business development)
  • Seek out new functionality in the market via competitor research and other available sources
  • Develop plans to ensure short and long term growth and sustainability
  • Manage strategic partners and vendors
  • Facilitate and manage the preparation of key documentation including: Statement of Work, Quote letters and proposals
  • Deliver clear and concise instructions and accurately document account related conversations and action items

o Provide client with compelling offerings to solve their business problems

  • Define and prioritize account activities and delegate tasks across available resources (Account Coordinators, Creative, IT, external vendors/partners)
  • Lead Account Services team to successful completion of defined requirements through development and management of project management tools
  • Establish effective and efficient procedures and lead continuous improvement effort; conduct quarterly business reviews, define and implement enhancements
  • Accompany Sales/Account Management on external client appointments/presentations in pursuit of new opportunities

o Serve as subject matter expert on all current account services

  • Work with individuals, diffuse situations, unite and motivate team
  • Travel Required (20%-30%)
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Knowledge:

Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) in Marketing, Business, Communications, or similar from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience:

Four to six years of related experience required and/or experience in the Account Coordinator and/or Senior Account Coordinator role. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

Skills:

  • Ability to adapt written and verbal communication skills to different styles and environments (persuasive, diplomatic, influential, technical) of clients
  • Able to discern appropriate level of detail of communications including the best method for delivery (video, voice, email, in-person)
  • Problem-solve using an analytics approach; evaluate, investigate and apply best practices and offer innovative solutions
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain high performance and quality levels in an environment of constant change and pressure
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and structure analysis for complex business issues
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend complex documents, such as journals, position papers, proposals, contracts, technical/functional specifications, etc.
  • Ability to make effective, persuasive speeches or presentations on complex topics. This includes the ability to sell, negotiate and close deals with customers.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills

The Account Executive reports to the Associate Director, Account Services
