Remote Job Associate General Counsel, Virtual Care

Our Opportunity: Chewy is looking for an Associate General Counsel, Virtual Care to join our Legal Team based in Dania Beach, FL or Boston, MA. This position is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a fast-paced, dynamic Legal Department supporting business opportunities and regulatory compliance issues in the animal health arena. This position will report to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel.

What you’ll do:

• Partner with the business to design and implement animal health and related solutions that are complementary to services provided by the veterinary community to create a virtuous care cycle between the pet, pet parent, veterinarian, and Chewy
• Research issues related to connecting Chewy technology offerings to veterinary clinics to further strengthen the working relationship between veterinarians and Chewy
• Develop policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance, and audit for compliance
• Research, including 50-state surveys, legal and compliance issues associated with the provision of animal health services and products
• Partner with the business to develop business expansion opportunities and corresponding risk mitigation strategies; support M&A activity
• Manage Board of Vet Medicine relationships
• Represent Chewy with select animal health industry associations
• Review and monitor online animal health content
• Monitor applicable legislation and advise on potential business impact
• Collaborate with and manage external legal counsel

What you’ll need:

• 15+ years relevant legal experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house
• Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to move quickly; Intellectually curious and willingness to learn new areas of law and business
• Member of the FL/MA Bar or ability to obtain in-house license
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Some travel required
