The Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Pittsburgh is recruiting a Research Assistant for an exciting national program to recruit one million individuals to create a resource for researchers to develop more personalized approaches to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.
The Research Assistant for the All of Us PA Research Program supports participants in the program and interested individuals through a variety of incoming and outgoing phone calls. Specific responsibilities include placing calls to study participants to assist them with additional program related surveys and activities for retention. Must be flexible and able to adjust to various needs of the participants. Requires use of various program technologies to assist participants, including telephone, computer assisted telephone interviewing (CATI), and video conferencing screen sharing (VCSS). Outgoing phone calls will utilize automated outbound dialing software to participants. Performance is monitored for quality and customer service.
While making phone calls, candidate must be comfortable utilizing and documenting information in multiple information technology and participant tracking systems during phone calls. Excellent customer service skills, patience, and a positive and enthusiastic demeanor are necessary to be successful in the position. Medical terminology and previous research experience preferred but not required. Requires strict adherence to confidentiality and maturity in dealing with sensitive subjects and medical questions/topics. Position will be primarily work from home, though may require some time in the office. Work from home requires high speed internet access sufficient for phone calls, and a private work location due to the confidential nature of telephone calls. A successful candidate is self-motivated, has the ability to work well in a fast paced environment, works with diverse populations and communicates effectively.
Associates degree with 1-2 years of related work experience.Experience in a clinical research setting that includes contact with human research participants preferred. Successful candidates must possess excellent phone skills, customer service skills and be comfortable switching between and entering data into multiple systems while on the phone with participants. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
