2021 is all about doubling down on our existing verticals (i.e., VC and PE), so we have another year of exponential growth and identifying additional verticals to increase our total addressable market. We’ve onboarded some of the best-known venture capital firms globally, closed deals with F500 companies, and have found great success selling to a wide variety of large sectors: private capital markets, startups, SMBs, and commercial real estate firms, to name a few. Our sales team is hitting or exceeding quota month over month, and we’re just entering the hyper-growth stage in Affinity’s lifecycle. We believe we’re going to fundamentally change the way people leverage their relationships and connect with others to do business.
THE ROLE
Given our strong growth over the last few quarters, the Finance team is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in the Bay area. You will support our Senior Accounting Manager by being responsible for Accounts Payable, tax filing, banking, and month-end processes. The ideal candidate must have intermediate excel skills and a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Support timely Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-End Financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, amortization, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts.
Match, code, and enter invoices into the accounts payable system and ensure timely & accurate payments.
Communicate with vendors regarding account issues and research unpaid vendor invoices, including follow-up. Resolve and investigate invoice disputes/discrepancies
Assist with Payroll and Employee expense reports.
Respond to all vendors and employee inquiries
Assisting with internal control evaluations
Report to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processes

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance
2-3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting
Experience with running payroll
Knowledge of GAAP principles within a SaaS company
Familiarity with relevant Accounting tools (Quickbooks, Bill.com, Airbase, Zenefits, etc.)
Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel skills (Pivots, Nest Formulas)
Professional with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external partners
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced & high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy

Assets:

Experience with Full Cycle AP
Knowledge of Accrual and Prepaid Amortization
Experience working in a start up environment
